Project Description
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by skincare products, observing the many luxury brands and their enticing promises. Over time, I've noticed a trend: these brands often make lofty claims that blur the line between genuine results and exaggerated promises. This phenomenon, fueled by selective and sometimes misleading advertising, leaves consumers captivated by illusions of perfection.
I realized that while I can’t change this widespread practice, I could highlight and critique it through a creative lens. This inspired me to create VARI BEAUTY – a high-end skincare brand that exposes the truth behind these extravagant promises. Through thoughtful design and packaging, VARI BEAUTY transparently communicates to consumers exactly where their money goes in these premium products.
The name "VARI" is inspired by French, a language frequently used to evoke a sense of luxury and sophistication. Many high-end skincare brands, though not from France, leverage the French language to enhance their image, as seen with brands like Decorte. VARI BEAUTY plays on this concept, blending a satirical edge with a luxurious presentation to question the authenticity behind the glamour of the skincare industry.
This project includes branding, product design, and packaging, all crafted to both emulate and mock the high-end skincare aesthetic. Through VARI BEAUTY, I hope to spark a conversation about transparency, value, and the true cost of beauty.
